Inspired by the lush Bucket Brigade units of the 1970s and refined with today’s clarity and depth, the AQUEOUS covers a full spectrum of modulation sounds — from smooth, watery Eric Johnson-style tones to vibrant rotary-speaker effects and beyond. It’s designed to give players a familiar feel with a distinctly musical response that encourages exploration.
At the heart of the circuit lies a dedicated preamp stage that restores dynamics and touch sensitivity often lost in conventional modulation pedals. This preamp adds gain makeup and a lively response, ensuring the AQUEOUS not only sounds great but also feels great to play — it quite literally brings the circuit to life. Complementing it is the Tilt EQ, the pedal’s tonal control center, which affects only the wet signal. This lets players fine-tune the balance between dark, vintage warmth and bright, modern shimmer with a single knob, shaping the entire character and feel of the chorus.
The Mix control allows seamless blending between lush chorus textures and full-on Vibe sounds. Together with Speed, Depth, and Output controls, it offers a wide range of expressive possibilities — from subtle movement to immersive modulation. Housed in a rugged, vintage-inspired enclosure and handbuilt in California, the AQUEOUS delivers classic tone, modern reliability, and unmistakable J. Rockett craftsmanship.
