Updated L70 ratings for ETC Source 4 LED Series 2 and ColorSource Spot

When ETC first released the Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr and ColorSource Spot fixtures, they each held an L70 rating of 20,000 hours. While this value is based on calculated data by their LED manufacturer, ETC knew the number was conservative. Last week they discovered just how conservative that rating is.

A third-party testing facility recently completed months of testing on several of their fixtures to accurately measure the amount of output droop they experience over time. The results came back and they are better than expected. Both Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr and ColorSource Spot will now carry an L70 rating of 54,000 hours!

ETC is in the process of having other fixtures tested as well, with the hope that they can increase the rating of other LED luminaires in the future.

NOTE: L70 rating indicates when the fixture output has declined to ~ 70% of its initial output at typical usage.
