Audinate believes that many DDM users who are security conscious will want to obtain this update, and users who are not current with their DDM Support and Maintenance Contract will not be able to upgrade.  

The interest is due to the update of the underlying DDM operating system from CentOS 7 to Rocky 9. CentOS 7 will end of life on June 30, 2024 and no longer receive any updates or security patches, and many customers likely have internal policies that require the update.  

With DDM 1.7 you have a good opportunity to speak with your customers about why they should upgrade, and the benefits of Support and Maintenance. For those who have not upgraded in a while, the new API and support for Dante AV might also be of use for you.
