Complexity in Action: 18 Live Sites & 4 Simultaneous Surgeries

During ERUS26, an impressive setup was created:

• 4 simultaneous surgeries on one LED wall: The main hall featured a giant LED wall split into four distinct screen sections.‍
• 18 live sites on a rotating schedule: Depending on the event program, the feed switched between 18 different operating rooms across various hospitals. ‍
• 700 multi-channel headphones: Attending physicians and specialists in the hall could use wireless headphones to individually select which of the four active surgeries they wanted to listen to.

Yamaha DM7 as the Central Audio Heart

Managing this massive stream of audio signals, N-1 (mix-minus) feeds, and venue interactions required a robust and highly flexible audio infrastructure.

The network consisted of a Dante infrastructure with 25 devices. The Yamaha DM7 functioned as the central line and distribution hub. It proved to be the perfect match for this challenging production. Thanks to its high channel count and seamless, integrated Dante connectivity, they were able to ingest all audio sources directly over the network and route them efficiently.

Uncompromising, Flexible Signal Routing

All audio sources from the 18 live sites were consolidated within the Yamaha DM7. The console effortlessly managed the necessary N-1 sends back to the various hospitals while routing the correct audio tracks to the wireless headphone system.

Thanks to the DM7's intuitive workflow and powerful DSP capabilities, the mediAVentures team maintained total control and visibility over the entire audio infrastructure at all times.
