Martin Audio has announced the release of DISPLAY 3, its next-generation 3D audio prediction and optimisation software. Available now as a free download for Mac and PC, this powerful new tool brings unprecedented speed, enhanced voicing consistency, and extreme precision to live sound and permanent installation environments.

Redefining speed and precision in audio design

Built for speed and precision, DISPLAY 3 delivers substantially faster prediction and optimisation processing than previous versions. System designers can now iterate rapidly across complex venue models without compromising measured accuracy, which is verified to within 1dB of real-world performance.

For Wavefront Precision line array systems, the software combines mechanical angle optimisation with advanced DSP filtering to configure arrays automatically against user-defined SPL and frequency response targets. This high-speed capability allows users to easily design, optimise, redesign, and re-optimise to compare options and ensure ultimate performance for any space.

Advanced features for complete control

DISPLAY 3 introduces several powerful workflow and acoustic enhancements:

• Focus Where It Counts: The new "Don't Care" designation lets users mark areas of a model where coverage and SPL targets do not apply, allowing the optimisation engine to skip those areas and concentrate strictly on the zones that matter.
• Intelligent Rejection & Hard Avoid^®: Natural sound rejection behind and below the array has been significantly improved. Martin Audio’s patented Hard Avoid^® feature can further extend this by up to 30dB, intelligently preventing audio reflections off problem surfaces like ceilings, balcony edges, or hard back walls, while also serving to mitigate outdoor noise pollution.
• Multiple Optimisation Snapshots: Engineers can create and store multiple snapshots within a single model to adapt to changing audience sizes or environmental conditions.
• Seamless SketchUp Integration: DISPLAY 3 offers full system prediction across the wider Martin Audio portfolio with smooth SketchUp integration for sophisticated venue modelling, layer management, and 3D SPL mapping, alongside a powerful dedicated subwoofer array design tool.

Seamless deployment with VU-NET 2.3.5

Array DSP parameters calculated in DISPLAY 3 upload directly via Ethernet to iKON amplifiers using Martin Audio’s newly upgraded VU-NET 2.3.5 software. Targeting reliability in large-scale deployments, the update introduces field-verification tools such as LED Mode (which illuminates cabinet LEDs in sequence to confirm physical array order) and Mute Mode (which steps through cabinets to verify audio routing). Additionally, engineers can save a diagnostic file directly from any network amplifier to capture internal states, fault counters, and performance history, radically shortening troubleshooting times.
