At the end of 2024, Cultural Centre Herbakker in Eeklo proudly unveiled the results of an extensive renovation project. With sustainability and accessibility at the heart of their vision, the theatre needed a complete overhaul of its light equipment. To achieve this, they partnered with FACE, who guided them in selecting and implementing the right solutions for their renewed cultural hub.

The new setup features are carefully chosen, high-quality equipment tailored to their needs. ETC fixtures with NFC technology provide modern flexibility, the Luminex network ensures stability and ease of use, and Ayrton delivers powerful output in a compact form factor. Since the technical team was already experienced and happy with MA Lighting consoles, they decided to upgrade to the latest generation, the MA3.

“Why MA3? We’ve been using MA Lighting consoles since 2000. We wanted something that works well for theatre but also carries a touch of rock ’n roll. After looking around for a while, we found MA and never looked back.”

On choosing Luminex, Koen adds:

“In my opinion, Luminex is the brand most tailored to the AV industry. We chose them for their stability and user-friendliness.”

The transition from analog to digital and LED was a big step, but FACE made sure the process was smooth and well-supported.

“We had a lot of questions during this transition, and FACE really guided us every step of the way. It wasn’t just a ‘delivery at the door’ experience. They were hands-on, even joining us for our first show to make sure everything ran smoothly. That support made all the difference”

With its upgraded technical setup and focus on modern standards, Cultural Centre Herbakker is now ready to welcome audiences into a sustainable, accessible, and future-proof cultural performance space.
