Pratt needed fixtures that could deliver precise shutter control without compromising on features. Having worked with Ayrton Mistral spots and Diablo profiles in the past, he was eager to explore the new Stradale. The fixture combines the best of both worlds, offering full framing shutter sets and dual gobo wheels in a compact profile. This allowed Pratt to use hard-line shuttering to light only the minimum amount of space needed for each scene, ensuring total control over the stage atmosphere.
Crafting the Mood
The production's director aimed for a distinct feeling of loneliness, which meant avoiding broad washes of light. Instead, Pratt utilized three overhead bars of five Stradale profiles each.
Because the hanging set was minimal, Pratt had the freedom to position the fixtures precisely where needed. The Stradale's framing shutters allowed him to carve out exact areas of action, track actors seamlessly across the stage, and experiment with different angles. This setup gave the production a professional edge, proving once again why top-tier projects rely on advanced lighting technology to bring their creative vision to life.
